Northern Lights over Norwegian Laplands
If I ever see this in person, my head will probably explode
i spent a couple weeks in hammerfest (the furthest north city in the world) during february … every night was just amazing. while this video is great- it doesnt do the “fox fires” justice.
my favorite phrase
i learned this morning that my favorite phrase is “im not sure how i feel about this” and when i say it- it apparently means i think you are wrong and ill go ahead and redesign it. apparently i say it about 15 times a day in the office.
i dont ever remember saying it. but i like it.
you know what isn't a good idea
listening to very emotional inducing music that a friend wrote who passed away 3 years ago when you are already sad … and switching it to college dropout
you know another great thing ...
when you go from having no plans for this upcoming weekend to having dinner at alinea and drinks at the office and brunch at your favorite spot
you know whats really nice
when someone you really respect calls you out of the blue and talks to you in very specific details about three of your past projects- telling you why they are great.
pretty nice feelings going on over here.
nice to meet you too
i recently met someone whose first words to me were “i have heard a few stories about you and most of them are bad”
who does that?

finally, understanding that you’ll find your way through it. whatever that “it” is for you right now, believe that you have the strength to do what you have to do.
i like this 21 things idea. this one specifically.
i spent a lot of time and energy to be able to understand this and live this way with my psychologist. i think it is the key to my happiness.
today in letters ive written
1- to my alderman encouraging amending the p street ordinance on chicago ave all the way west to damen
2- to the mayor re: building permit process
3- to my governor urging funding for a project i care about.
4- to my alderman re: the polish triangle
and then a few to penpals/friends
i love writing letters
hoarders
someone i follow posted an article that talked about getting rid of 50 things but now i can’t find it. either way- i am doing that today and it feels so good. i am only up to number 6.

i cant stop laughing
just got an email asking me if i “am having relations with [redacted]”
i responded that while [redacted] and i have a strong professional relationship and i have no problem putting in a good word for his company, [redacted] and i are not having “relations”.
i could talk about 90210 ALL DAY

Now, see - if Heather had asked what my favorite 90210 story line was, this would definitely be it.

GQ: Paul Kahan's Guide to Chicago →
gasp-shock:
Based on his restaurants, Paul Kahan does no wrong for me. This list meets those expectations (more than just food, though there’s plenty of that).
(Nora: he included Danny’s for Soul Night!)
i love paul- and i am going to yusho tonight!
